Does Donor Hair Continue to Grow After Hair Transplant?

Oct 30, 2019 | By Dr. Sangay Bhutia (Hair Transplant Doctor in Delhi, NCR, India)

Hair transplant is a procedure where hair follicles from the donor area are extracted and then transplanted in the recipient area or the area of baldness. The donor area is the permanent hair bearing area of the scalp which is generally back and sides of the head. Other areas which may be used as the extended donor areas are beard, upper chest, upper back. Once the donor hairs are extracted then they cannot continue to grow in the donor area as they have been transplanted in the area of hair loss. But we cannot make out as all the donor follicles are not extracted from one area. They are extracted randomly so that this does not give rise to bald patches in the donor area.
