After hair transplant as such there is no such maintenance because these are natural hair and will follow the natural hair cycle. But one should know how to get the best and optimal growth and should have long lasting result.

We can say that some instructions in immediate period and some change in habits and life style will ensure the best possible outcomes. In immediate period after the procedure one should wash the head as advised using mild baby or medicated shampoo which will help in loosening the crust and also keeping the area clean and healthy thereby reducing the chances of infection. As a thumb rule, never scratch or rub the scalp vigorously. Treating doctor may prescribe some medicines after transplant like antibiotics, pain killers etc.

Long term advice includes change of some habits like avoid smoking, have healthy diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables which will provide essential micronutrients and antioxidants, never ever go for crash diet in pursuit of reducing weight faster. Drink adequate water as this hydrate the body and hairs.

Some habits regarding the hairs also need to be changed like avoid combing in wet hairs, avoid high heat settings in straightening and styling tools, avoid repeated and vigorous combing.

In areas of thinning where transplant is not done, one may go for PRP session in these area and one may also apply minoxidil.
